Cynthia: Flesh-Eating Synthetic Bacteria that has Gone Wild | New Eastern Outlook

*This is a scary bedtime story:  The artificially created microorganism that was unleashed in the Gulf of Mexico called Cynthia (Corexit?) has mutated into something that feeds on organic lifeforms (as birds, fish & humans); now catching a ride on the Gulf stream to Europe (think the beaches of France, Italy, Greece).  And these genetic engineering firms (Synthetic Genomics Inc & J. Craig Venter Institute) still go on with their biological experiments, though they were supposed to be banned in 2001.  The US seems to give them a no holds barred status to make our worst nightmares come true….*

The reports about tests on human beings that are being routinely carried out by certain Western corporations have become a sort of a trend these days. Among others, one can recall the story about the long struggle between civil…

Don’t Panic About Politics and Elections

Even after the elections are done, this is a great article no matter what “side” you are on.  I really hate that we look at each other, our fellow American citizens, as on opposing sides -left or right.  We should all be on the side of the people ; against the real adversaries- the corporate oligarchy; The “Big 6” that rule us, the people now;  The Banking, Pharmaceutical, Agricultural, Military-Industrial Complex, Energy and Media giants.   I believe our constitution was designed to prevent this type of all powerful globalist corporate dominated government situation to happen. But for we the People to prevent a federal domination of elitists, we were supposed to act on our rights to keep those entities from crushing the Constitution.   They’ve gotten away with so much, those agencies that were supposed to protect us, like the FDA & USDA are now just a revolving door for corporate influence.  And I know very well they don’t have the peoples best interests, health or safety in mind.  If you just follow the money, you can see that too.  I so hope that we can turn this march towards globalism back, and achieve freedoms that have been slowly wrenched from us by corporate backed, bought and paid for politicians of both parties.  And slay the behemoth Oligarchy once and for all…  or is that too much to wish for?

In a national poll by a University of Minnesota psychologist, 43 percent of Americans reported emotional stress to Trump’s campaign and 28 percent to Clinton’s.

Don’t Mess with the Corn: Lessons from Mexico’s Struggle against GMOs ‹ The Argentina Independent

This is a wonderful article.  I learned so much about the Mexican point of view – what  strong, vibrant, intelligent, determined, colorful and interesting, diverse peoples.  I understand so much more about what they are going through and their own struggles against the corporate seed/chemical giants (basically Dow / Dupont / Monsanto / Syngenta soon to be ChemChina ?)  BASF )  I feel terrible for them and all the other countries that are experiencing this force.  I feel so hopeless in the US, like we can never get our land back from these mega monsters;  I want to see them succeed – their courage,  outspokenness  and activism is awesome.

Soledad Barruti investigates what can be learnt from Mexico in its struggle against genetically-modified corn, and tells of the daily violence experienced by those on the frontline.
