AEROSOLS – CONTRAILS

The Dire Straits Diaries – Part 3:  A Fearful Master

eloquently written by Diane Harvey

What has happened to our constitution,  has it been “put away” by a fearful master?   Although this article was written in November 2001, I feel that it holds just as true today, even more so as time goes on.  It punched me in the gut.

I want my children to know that our Constitution was meant to make our government a servant , if sometimes a troublesome one,  carrying out the will of We The People.  Our forefathers warned us of our responsibility; that without due care, caution and attention on the part of the people,  it could turn on us and become A Fearful Master (or I might say Monster).

TWO BIRDS

Once there was a flock of birds.
Two of them found each other.
They found they liked each other,
And comforted each other from hurts in a past parting,
Reveled in this companionship when they’d felt alone
And warmed each others cold bodies.
For awhile, they enjoyed flying together
They raised stunning young ones.
After the fledglings left the nest, it was just the two of them again
As they took off for their yearly migration to the south
These two got tangled
in some random debris.
At first it kept them close, and they continued on that way
tangled up but still able to maneuver.
But then,
they began struggling, they wanted to
stretch their wings fully again
and couldn’t.
The more they struggled
the tighter they were wrapped.
They began falling, hitting other birds
damaging them too.
They turned and twisted, trying to unknot the knots.
Spinning wildly, descending faster and faster
They fell into a giant Sequoia tree.
They were quiet for awhile – shaken badly.
Still at last, they were able to figure this out.
They spent some time managing to untie the knots,
cutting themselves free
from the entanglement.
Finally, they succeeded
after so long, able to stretch their wings.
It was exhilarating.
They could soar again.
They had different ideas now,
of where they wanted to go,
with the flock so far ahead.
He decided to go back home.
He longed for it, to go back
to what he was familiar with and loved dearly.
He found his way home heading due North.
She chose to go in a new direction, East, uncharted territory
to explore places she’d never been.
She’d always been an adventurer, drawn to things unknown to
this breed of bird.
So off into the wild blue yonder they flew
to pursue their own dreams.
Each one grateful to be free
But yet also content to have learned many things
in this union.
To have been together to raise such beautiful chicks!
This is a story with TWo happy endings.

Fly Again Little Bird or Know Your Pain

Fly Again Little Bird or

KNOW YOUR PAIN

————————————————————–

Feel it.

He “said”  She “said”  They did it to me (us).

The Hurt

deep

stabbing

racking

sobbing

raw

Pain of it.

Cold,  steel,  real as a dagger.

Deep, penetrating, the root of all evil

Piercing the heart.

Face it.     Live it.     Know it intimately.

If not fully experienced,     and then exorcised;

Hurt      festers, grows, crawls

until it permeates every cell and then

colors perception, influences action and even may

reshape the soul.

It morphs into rage, anger and hate or

turns into relentless anxiety and loss of clear self – perception.

Explore the hurt ……………….. Swim in it

Bury yourself in it

Dance  with it even!

Emerge from the cleansing

Refreshed,              revitalized,           rejuvenated

Renewed to begin again, knowing you conquered the ultimate downer

And can fly again !!

Journeys or Quests

I’ll start by ramblin’ a bit…

We are all journeyers in life. By the time we hit the halfway point, we’ve all traveled many roads.  We all have stories to tell.  Many of us have experiences we want to share to help make the world a better place for those that follow. Sometimes the journey turns into a quest … something hits a cord that makes it a more passionate issue than just enjoying the ride. Sometimes you need to act rather than just observe and listen.  Although observation and listening are certainly underrated skills! Ones I try very hard to hone and i think i am getting much  better at as I get older.  Anyway, this Idea Mine will explore the quests and then the journeys of my life and if I find like minded souls who choose to share in any adventures or fellow word querners that contribute their written produce, ah sharing is what it’s all about!  Thanks for reading my first blog!
