It used to seem like a miracle product: non-stick cookware/ stain and water repellent clothing/ stain resistant carpets and fabrics : But now we should all be aware that the PFOA’s or C8 in these products are down right dangerous to our health and polluting our water : Some areas with exceptionally high levels in their water supply are Issaquah, WA; Wilmington, Delaware; Colorado Springs, Nassau county on Long Island and Parkersburg, WV. In fact, any industry responsible for high performance plastics is polluting the environment and water supplies with this extreme toxin. Fluorochemicals are bad news for any community that lives within reach of these industries.
PFOA also known as C8 was an essential ingredient in DuPont’s Teflon cookware and is also used in hundreds of other non-stick and stain-resistant products.
